Eyelid Correction (Blepharoplasty)

The skin of the eyelids is particularly delicate and sensitive, which is why signs of aging become visible early on. Drooping eyelids or bags under the eyes can make the face appear prematurely aged and tired. The extent of skin sagging on the eyelids depends not only on age but also on individual skin characteristics. An additional effect often noticed is a frequent feeling of pressure and heaviness in the upper eyelid. After an eyelid correction, the tighter skin allows for more precise application of makeup, any restriction of the visual field caused by skin sagging can be resolved, and the face appears fresher overall.

To achieve this goal, excess skin, protruding fatty tissue, and excess muscle tissue are removed. The incisions are placed so that they run parallel to the eyelid edges and are skillfully hidden in the natural skin folds. The wound edges are carefully sutured microsurgically to ensure that no visible scars remain when the eyes are open after the procedure. Before anesthesia, the incision lines are precisely marked. Upper eyelid tightening is usually performed under local anesthesia with accompanying twilight sedation. The entire correction takes approximately 60 minutes, with costs depending on the type and extent of the procedure.
